How does it work?
Minimally invasive micro channels are created into the skin to trigger your skin’s wound healing response which results in increases in collagen and elastin production as well as in new skin cell renewal.
Does it hurt?
Precautions are put into place to make this treatment near pain free by using a medical grade topical numbing ointment.
Is Micro-Needling safe for my skin type?
Yes! Of course a consultation needs to be taken to assure the success of your treatment but there is no post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation response making this treatment safe and effective for all skin types.
Is there any downtime?
No sun seeking or heavy exercise for 72 hours. Your skin could feel like a sunburn and could be reddish for up to 24 hours. There may be some mild flaking, however, this should subside within 5-7 days.
When will I see results?
You will notice an improvement in your skin immediately but the true transformation of your skin will show as new skin cells are created, generally around 4-6 weeks post treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
This will vary based on each person’s goals. An optimal treatment plan will be created just for you at your consultation.
This treatment is not suitable for individuals who are on or have been on Accutane within the last 3 months, active cancer diagnosis, open wounds on areas of treatment or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What to expect on peel day?
Expect to spend roughly 30 minutes in your treatment. You will receive post peel instructions. Your skin could be pink/red that will dissipate over the next few hours and there may be a slight orange tint to your skin from the peel itself. Avoid being in the sun and heavy exercise for the remainder of the day.
Will I really peel?
Yes! Peeling is usually day 3 to day 5. Some clients who are expert exfoliators may not have much peeling, however, the overall health of the skin will reveal a visible result.
What is the recommended course for optimal results?
This will vary based upon your goals and will be discussed upon consultation, however, a series of three peels, each 4 weeks apart is the recommended treatment for most acne and hyperpigmentation.
When should I get my peel done if it is for a special occasion?
Schedule your peel 2 weeks prior to your special occasion date. This allows for the peeling and healing process to complete and allowing your best skin to shine at your event.
